Amare Stoudemire, Steve Nash, and Shawn Marion, each had double-doubles and the Phoenix Suns came back from a 20 point first quarter deficit to defeat the Seattle Super Sonics Thursday night 104-96. Phoenix who fell behind 33-13 at the end of the first quarter, outscored Seattle 59-30 in the second and third quarters, and then held on in the fourth for the win.

Phoenix looked like they were lambs being led to the slaughter in the first quarter, as they could not get anything to drop, and Seattle looked like they couldn’t miss. But the Suns were able to right their ship and by the end of the first half were only down by 2 points, 45-43. Phoenix kept their foot on the accelerator during the third quarter, as they had a 72-63 lead heading into the final period. Seattle awoke from their two quarter slumber in the fourth quarter, scoring 33 points, but this time Phoenix stayed competitive scoring 32, and winning the game by 8 points.

Stoudemire shot 11-19 from the floor, including 1-1 from outside the arc, and 11-15 from the line for a game high 34 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist. Nash scored 17 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, Leandro Barbosa scored 16 points off the bench, 3 boards, 1 assist. Marion scored 11 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Raja Bell also scored 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, 1 steal.

Kevin Durant led Seattle shooting 11-24 from the floor, 1-3 from outside the arc, and 5-6 from the line for 28 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist. Earl Watson scored 20 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, Kurt Thomas had a double-double, 14 points, 12 boards, 2 steals, 2 assists. Rookie Jeff Green in the starting lineup scored 14 points as well, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 1 assist. Phoenix is now 23-9, while Seattle is 9-23.
