There are three sides to every story, your side, my side, and the truth which usually falls somewhere in between your side and my side. There are three ways of looking at?the Washington Wizards lopsided victory over the Seattle Super Sonics Sunday 108-86. It could be interpreted as a message to injured guard Gilbert Arenas, who according to the “Washington Times” Sunday said that he was contemplating sitting out the rest of the season. Arenas who has undergone knee surgery twice in the last 7 months, according to the report, stated that he would only come back if he was feeling perfect, and the Wizards were in the playoff hunt. That being said, this could have been a message to Arenas, that we don’t need you stay away, or we are for real come back soon. Or there might not have been any message at all, and the Wizards just played a dominant game. Oh by the way Agent Zero, happy birthday, Arenas turned 26 on Sunday.

Wizards broke out big in the first quarter as they led Toronto?31-17 at the end of the period, Wally Szczerbiak?scored 13 consecutive points in the second quarter to cut Washington’s lead to 43-42, but the Wizards finished the quarter strong taking a 52-46 lead in to the locker room. Seattle was able to get the lead down to just 5 points in the third quarter at 74-69, but they got no closer as Washington went into the final period leading 78-69.?Seattle was never a factor in the final quarter.

Caron Butler had a big game for the Wizards, shooting 12-21 from the floor, 3-5 from outside the arc, and a perfect 6-6 at the line for a game high 33 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, 4 rebounds. Antawn?Jamison had a double-double, 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists, Antonio Daniels also had a double-double, 13 points, 10 assists, 4?steals, 1 block, 1 rebound. DeShawn Stevenson also scored 13 for the Wizards, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and Brendan Haywood scored 10 points, 9 boards, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist.

Seattle was led by rookie Kevin Durant who shot 7-21 from the floor, 5-6 at the line, for 19 points,?6 rebounds, 3 assists. Szczerbiak scored 18 off the bench, 1 rebounds, Nick Collison scored 13 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, in the loss.?Washington is now 17-15, while Seattle is 9-24.
