Remember a few years ago when Coors Stadium the home of the Rockies was known as a home run haven? They?keep the baseballs?in a humidor,?so now it’s?a a different result. But baseballs used to soar out of Denver?with alarming frequency? Everyone used to say so many long balls were hit because of the thinner air, I wonder if that works in basketball? That might be an explanation of how the Phoenix Suns Monday night set a franchise for treys as they hit 20 three point shots. Of course another explanation is that they are just a pretty darn good team, which they showed as they decimated their hosts the Denver Nuggets 137-115. Phoenix shot an incredible 64.5 % for the game from outside the arc, making 20-31 they also shot 53.8% from the floor for the game making 50-93 shots. Oh yeah, they went 17-18 at the line as well!

Phoenix scored 46 points in the first quarter, and 78 points in the first half! Denver really never was a factor in this game even though they scored 115 points, with Allen Iverson scoring 32 and Carmelo Anthony scoring 20 more. That says a lot, now if it would only work in the Post Season.

Shawn Marion had a monster game, and that probably is an understatement. Marion had a double-double, he?shot 11-16 from the floor, 5-9 from outside the arc, for a season high 27 points, 14 rebounds, 6 blocks, 4 assists. The six blocks, and the five treys tied career highs for the Phoenix forward. Marcus Banks came off the bench scoring 23 points, hitting 7 treys, 2 blocks, 2 rebounds, Amare Stoudemire had a double-double 20 points, 10 boards, 3 blocks, 3 assists. The Grant Hill “Comeback Tour” was going strong as he also scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist, Steve Nash also had a double-double, scoring 13 points, including 2 three point shots, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Leandro Barbosa scored 12 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds.

A.I. scored 32 points, and?basically got lost in the shuffle, he shot 10-20 from the floor, 2-4 from outside the arc, 10-13 at the line, 3 assists, 2 rebounds. Melo?had a double-double 20 points, 14 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist, Marcus Camby scored 13 points, 6 boards, 3 blocks, 2 assists. Nene came off the bench scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, 1 block, Kenyon Martin scored 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Phoenix with the win is now 24-10 while Denver is now 21-13.
