The “New York Post” reported Tuesday, that New York Knicks head coach as well as head of Basketball Operations, Isiah Thomas gave another “Sermon On The Mount” Monday to the collected New York Media. Last week you may remember that Zeke told the reporters, that even though most people would probably laugh at his thought process, he saw the makings of a champion with the Knicks. Thomas was right, people did laugh, long, hard, and derisively, New York is languishing in last place in the NBA Atlantic Division with an 8-24 record 21 games behind the division leading Boston Celtics. They are 5 games behind the fourth place Philadelphia 76ers, and New York is in the midst of a 7 game losing streak. Thomas more and more these days resembles Captain Queeg on “Mutiny on the Bounty“ seemingly out of touch with reality, and losing control of his ship.

Monday Zeke was at it again as he made himself the punchline of jokes through out the NBA. Thomas said that he was staying on as head coach of the Knicks despite the record, and despite the constant chant from the MSG “Boo-Birds” to “Fire Isiah.” Thomas uncorked another gem on Tuesday when he told reporters ”Sure, there could be smarter people. But in terms of the determination and a passion to make it right, I know I’m not going to find anyone out there who wants to do it more than I want to do it right now.I know I won’t find a more passionate person and a more committed person to do this than myself.” Okay Zeke you are dumb but passionate, is that what you are trying to say? Coach a bit of advice, next time you feel you want to make one of these pronouncements, go outside and have a cigarette instead. It will probably do you a lot less harm in the long run.
