Hornets Extend Lease Through 2014

The New Orleans Hornets announced on Wednesday that they have extended their lease by 2 years and are now committed to being in New Orleans through the year 2014. The team announced that they have reached an agreement with the state of Louisiana, on the extension. The two years are to make up for the Hornets missing two years due to the results of Hurricane Katrina. Team owner George Shinn made the announcement on Wednesday and said he was very excited at the fact that the lease was extended. Word from the League Office of the NBA was that Commissioner David Stern was very pleased with the announcement.
