Blake Leads Blazers To Torch Warriors 109-91

Steve Blake scored a career high 24 points before leaving the game in the second half with a bruised left calf, and the Portland TrailBlazers are now the top team in the Northwest Division after routing the Golden State Warriors Wednesday 109-91. Blake was injured after Golden State guard Monta Ellis ran into him, Blake had to be assisted from the court. Portland is saying he suffered a contusion, and Blake said he was sore but would have a better grasp of the situation Thursday morning. The win puts Portland in first place for the first time since March 1, 2001, they have a half game lead over second place Denver.
Brandon Roy was injured earlier in the game, when he banged into Warriors forward Al Harrington in the second quarter. Roy collapsed holding his right knee, he was also assisted off the court but came back to play in the second half, and appeared to be fine.
Portland came out aggressively in the first quarter to grab a 30-14 lead, the Warriors made a run early in the second quarter and had the lead down to 7 points, at 40-33. Portland rattled off 10 unanswered points to make it a 50-33 lead and the game was basically over. The Blazers had the lead at 56-41 at the half, and led going into the final quarter 84-64.
Blake shot 8-10 from the floor, 5-6 from outside the arc, and a perfect 3-3 at the line for his 24 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 19 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist, Martell Webster scored 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. James Jones came off the bench and scored 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and Joel Pryzbilla had a double-double 10 points, 10 boards, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 2 assists.
The bench provided most of the offense for Golden State Wednesday as just one starter scored in double figures. Matt Barnes led the Warriors off the bench with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist. Mickael Pietrus scored 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block, 1 assist, CJ Watson scored 11 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound. Monta Ellis was the only starter ion double figures with 10 points, 2 boards, 1 steal, 1 assist. Portland is now 22-13, Golden State is 20-16.
