Lakers Fumigate Hornets 109-80

The Los Angeles Lakers shot 54.9% from the floor for the game as they went into the Big Easy and punked the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday night 109-80. Kobe Bryant led five Los Angeles players in double figures, the team also hit 9 treys as they led this game from beginning to end. Chris Paul scored a game high 32 points for New Orleans, but it was not enough to stem the tide of the Lakers offense.
Los Angeles broke out to a 32-19 lead in the first quarter, as the Hornets look almost lost through the first period. New Orleans was able to shave 2 points off the lead in the second quarter, as the Lakers led 54-43 at the half. Los Angeles took away any lingering doubts in the third quarter, 84-68, and the fourth quarter was really extended garbage time.
Bryant had a very efficient game shooting 8-16 from the floor, 2-4 from outside the arc, and 1-2 at the line, for his 19 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals. Andrew Bynum scored 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, Luke Walton scored 14 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound. Lamar Odom scored scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists, and Trevor Ariza came off the bench to score 10 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal.
Paul shot 13-23 from the floor, 6-8 from the line for his game high 32 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. David West scored 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, Tyson Chandler scored 11 points, 7 rebounds, in the loss. Los Angeles improves to 23-11, while the Hornets are now 23-12.
