Dallas Wins Sixth Straight Sink Sonics 90-70

Dirk Nowitzki had a game high 20 points, Josh Howard recorded a double-double 18 points, and 11 rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks grounded the Seattle SuperSonics 90-70 Friday night.?The win was Dallas’ sixth straight victory their longest winning streak of the season. The Mavericks held Seattle to just 35.4% shooting from the floor for the game.
This game effectively was over in the first quarter. Both teams started out the game not being able to sink a basket, but Dallas took the lead at 14-12 with just over a minute to go in the first quarter. Seattle would?never be closer than 2 points the rest of the game. Dallas led at the end of the first quarter 18-16, and had a 44-35 advantage at the half. The Mavericks pushed the lead to 62-46 at the end of the third quarter, Seattle never got within hailing distance in the fourth.
Nowitzki shot 5-10 from the floor, a perfect 10-10 at the line for his 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Howard along with with his 18 points, and 11 rebounds, had 1 steal, Jason Terry came off the bench and 11 points, 4 steals, 3 boards,?2 blocks, 1 assist. DeSagana Diop scored 10 points, 5 boards coming off the bench.?
Wally Szczerbiak shot 7-9 from the floor, 3-4 treys, for a team high 17 points, 2 rebounds. Kevin Durant scored 15 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block, Nick Collison was the only other Sonics player in double figures also with 15 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 1 block. Kurt Thomas scored only 2 points, but did have a game high in rebounds with 15, he also had 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block. Dallas is now 25-11, while Seattle falls to 9-27.
