Wizards Put Spell On Celtics Win 85-78

Alright Celtics Nation, take a deep breath. Yes your team has lost 2 out of their last 3 games to teams they probably should have beaten. But the world believe it or not is still spinning on it’s axis, and the Green Team still have the best record in the NBA at 30-5. Feel better now? Good! Because as well as the Boston Celtics have played all season, they deserved to lose this game Saturday night as they fell to the Washington Wizards 85-78. Boston kept shooting themselves in their collective feat as they just could not hold on to the ball, turning the ball over 21 times resulting in 28 points by Washington. When you commit that many turnovers you have only yourself to blame for losing.

Washington controlled the temp of this game from the start, leading 23-19 at the end of the first quarter, 41 -40 at the end of the first half. Boston seemed to be getting back on track in the third as they grabbed, a 65-60 lead, but Washington then increased their defensive intensity in the fourth quarter. Washington held Boston to just 13 points in the fourth quarter, and the Wizards?arena was ecstatic as Washington walked off the court with the win.

DeShawn Stevenson led the attack for Washington, shooting 5-11 from the floor including 1 trey, and a perfect 8-8 from the line for 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Caron Butler recorded a double-double, 16 points, 10 boards, 4 steals, 2 assists, 1 block, Antawn Jamison also?registered a double-double, 10 points, a game high 16 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists.

Kevin Garnett was high scorer for Boston shooting 7-14 from the floor, 5-8 from the line for 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. Paul Pierce scored 15 points for the Celtics, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal, Eddie House came off the bench and scored 11 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals. Washington improves to 19-16, Boston is at 30-5.
