Zack Randolph scored a game high 25 points, and the New York Knicks ended the Detroit Pistons road trip on a bad note being mortified on NBA-TV 89-65 Sunday. Detroit shot an embarrassing 30.7% from the floor for the game, and an ugly 13.3% from outside the arc 2-15. Only 2 Pistons players scored in double figures, against the New York Knicks! A team that came into the game with a 9-26 record living in the basement of the Atlantic Division.?Something tells me the plane trip?back to the Motor City was not joy filled.

Both teams had trouble finding the basket in the first quarter as they were knotted up at 18-18 at the end of the first, New York however found their pulse in the second quarter as they led 43-32 at the half. Detroit scored just 10 points in the third quarter and the Knicks lead grew to 71-42. Only extended garbage time saved Detroit from ending up on the south side of a 30 plus point defeat.

Randolph, who came to the Knicks on a draft night trade is allegedly on the block according to the New York tabloids, who say that he and head coach Isiah Thomas do not see eye to eye (according to the New York Tabloids, Zeke only sees eye to eye with Knicks owner James Dolan.) If that is true this game either increased his market value, or took him off the market. Randolph shot 11-18 from the floor, 1-3 from outside the arc, 2-2 at the line, for 25 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Jamal Crawford scored 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, Nate Robinson came off the bench to score 13 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound.

Antonio McDyess was one of the few bright spots for the Pistons as he recorded a double-double 15 points, 13 rebounds. Chauncey Billups was the only other Detroit player to score in double figures as he scored 14 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Detroit should probably be charged with 3 losses for this contest, but of course they won’t, they have a record of 28-10. The victorious Knicks finally on January 13, 2008 reached double figures in wins their record 10-26.
