The Associated Press reported Sunday that Miami Heat center Shaquille O’Neal resumed practice with the team, and Miami head coach Pat Riley says he expects his center to play Wednesday night. O’Neal has not played since last month, when diving for a loose ball he slid into the scorers table bruising his left hip. The Heat won the game over the Utah Jazz, but they lost their center in the bargain four days later on December 26, when he aggravated it playing against Philadelphia. O’Neal ended up traveling to Los Angeles  for treatment. Shaq did participate in any contact drills, but said he felt good after the practice session. Miami has a record of 8-28 and are mired in last place in the NBA Southeast Division.
