Two names, both familiar to NBA fans everywhere - Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant - on Monday were named Eastern and Western Conference, respectively, Players of the Week for games that were played from January 7 to January 13, 2008.

Bosh led Toronto to a 3-0 record, averaging 33.0 PPG, 8.7 RPG and 2.0 blocked shots per game.? He also shot 55.2% from the field and made 80.6% of his free throws for the week, as well.? Bosh capped his impressive week with a 38-point, 14-rebound effort against the Portland Trail Blazers last Sunday.? Bryant led the Lakers to a 4-0 record this past week; Bryant averaged 29.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 6.0 APG and 3.5 steals per game.? Bryant capped the week with consecutive 37-point performances - January 11 vs. Milwaukee and January 13 vs. Memphis.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta?s Joe Johnson, Charlotte?s Jason Richardson, Cleveland?s LeBron James, Golden State?s Baron Davis, Houston?s Yao Ming, Portland?s Brandon Roy, Sacramento?s John Salmons and Utah?s Mehmet Okur.
