Injured Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum

In what isn’t completely a surprise, the Los Angeles Lakers website is reporting that after an MRI was performed on center Andrew Bynum’s left knee Monday, it has been learned that Bynum suffered a “sublaxation” of the patella tendon and a bone bruise of his left knee, suffered during the Lakers’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday.

Bynum is expected to be out for a minimum of eight weeks; however, he is expected to make a full recovery.  Bynum, prior to the injury, was averaging 13.1 PPG, 10.2 RPG and 2.1 blocked shots per game.  Expect Kwame Brown to start in Bynum’s place and Ronnie Turiaf to back up Brown.
