Marbury Out At Least 3 Days

Is it just me or does this week seem to simply be jinxed, especially where NBA players’ health is concerned?? First it was Miami Heat center Alonzo Mourning, then Los Angeles Lakers?center Andrew Bynum.? Now the next victim of the injury bug is New York Knicks guard Stephno Marbury.

According to the team’s website, Marbury paid a visit to Dr. William Hamilton in Manhattan today after the team practice to check on his chronically ailing left ankle.? As it turns out, there appears to be inflammation around what is described as a “chronically fractured” bone spur.? Hamilton recommended that Marbury wear a walking boot to rest his ankle for the next 3 days.? He would then be re-evaluated with an MRI.? Marbury, as of this writing, is averaging 13.9 PPG, 2.5 RPG and 4.7 APG in 24 games this season.
