It appears that the mystery illness that is afflicting Denver Nuggets forward Nene is closer to being solved; SportsTicker is reporting that he underwent an operation in Denver to have a tumor removed; this was first reported on Nene’s official website.? As of this writing, Nene and his doctors are waiting for further?results in order to determine what steps to take next;?details regarding the type of tumor removed or where it was located were unavailable as of yet.
Nene has appeared in 12 games with the Nuggets this season, averaging 6.4 PPG and 6.4 RPG; he has missed 22 games after undergoing surgery?on his left thumb in November?2007.
