Magic GM: Don’t Expect Any Trades

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith?

Most NBA – or for that matter any professional team – typically, if salary cap allows, will look to improve their team.? The Orlando Magic apparently may be the exception to the rule; according to Brian Schmitz and Tim Povtak of the Orlando Sentinel, team general manager Otis Smith has stated that the Magic aren’t expecting to pull off a trade before the trading deadline.

While it’s apparent that they need a power forward that they can start regularly, Smith said that he has no interest in any of the free agent PF’s that are currently available; Smith further added, “I don’t see us doing anything.? We’re always trying to make our team better, but I think what we need, as a team, is more consistent play from the guys we have.”? That could very well be true, but with the trading deadline coming up, who ‘s not to say that Smith may change his mind?
