Thomas Wants To Play This Season

The Associated Press Friday reported that Washington Wizards center Etan Thomas who was a guest on the “John Thompson Show” said he would like to attempt to make a return to the NBA this season. Thompson who spoke with the former Georgetown coach on radio station WTEM in Washington, D.C. had open heart surgery last October. The procedure was to fix a leaky aortic valve that was discovered before training camp last Autumn. Thomas who is 29 years old has played six years in the Association all with Washington. He told the former Hoyas coach that his heart is fine, doctors are just concerned with how much force his sternum can take after being cracked open for the operation. Etan, I admire your competitiveness, and wanting to get back out on the hardwood. But better to err on the side of caution on this issue big fella.
