Bad Knee Shelves Pacers’ O’Neal

The Indiana Pacers will be without the services of arguably the biggest star on their team; SportsTicker reports that forward/center Jermaine O’Neal will miss a minimum of 2 weeks with a bruised knee, according to the team.? There had been some reports floating around that the Pacers were considering shutting O’Neal down so he could rest the knee.
Losing O’Neal right now is especially painful to the Pacers as they are on the fringe of a playoff berth in the relatively weak Eastern Conference; O’Neal, prior to the injury, was averaging 15.3 PPG and 7.3 RPG, numbers that have declined from previous seasons.
