K-Mart Sidelined With Staph Infection

The Denver Nuggets by now have been accustomed to having players injured with “mainstream” injuries (a strained this, a pulled that); however, the latest “injury” to come from out of Denver, according to Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post, is the staph infection that is dogging power forward Kenyon Martin. And get this - the infection is on Martin’s buttocks.
Nonetheless, the infection kept Martin out of Saturday’s game - his third consecutive game missed. The Nuggets are rather thin at power forward, with Martin out, along with Nene (tumor removal) and Eduardo Najera (hyperextended right elbow); Najera is still playing nonetheless - my guess being at least until Martin’s infection clears up.
