Duncan’s Double-Double Too Much For Bobcats Spurs Win 95-86

Tim Duncan led five San Antonio players in double figures recording a double-double 19 points, 10 rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 95-86 on Monday afternoon. The contest was one of a series of daytime games played Monday in celebration of the birthday of the slain Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. San?Antonio shot 48.7% from the floor for the game, while shooting 50% from outside the arc (8-16.) Charlotte’s Emeka Okafor lead all scorers, as he also recorded a double-double?21 points, along with 10 boards.
Although the two teams were never far apart, points wise there really was no doubt that?San Antonio would eventually win this game after the first quarter. Charlotte had a slim 27-26 margin at the end of the first quarter,?the Spurs would start off the second quarter on a 9-2 run, and took the advantage at?the half 54-47. The Bobcats were able to stay close but they could never get the lead under 4 points, as ?San Antonio led at the end of the third quarter 73-67.? Charlotte was never a real threat in the final quarter.
Duncan shot 8-17 from the floor, 3-4 from the line for hi 19 points, along with his 10 rebounds, he had a game high 5 blocks, 3 assists. Manu Ginobili scored 16 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, a game high 4 steals, 1 block, Tony Parker also scored 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Michael Finley scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, Ime Udoka scored 11 points, 5 rebounds.
Okafor shot 10-14 from the floor, 1-1 at the line for his 21 points, along with his 10 boards, he had 1? block, 1 assist, 1 steal. Gerald Wallace scored 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, Jason Richardson scored 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block. Nazr Mohammed came off the bench scoring 12 points,?4 rebounds, 2 steals, Raymond Felton scored 10 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. The Spurs are now 26-13, Charlotte drops to 16-25.
