Wednesday Cavaliers Will Celebrate Black Heritage

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Monday that the Cleveland Cavaliers will have their fourth annual “Black Heritage Celebration” Wednesday night as the Cavaliers host the Washington Wizards. The team will hold an on court ceremony at halftime in which they will honor five individuals. Lenny Wilkens; NBA Hall Of Fame Member, and former coach for Cleveland, Earl Lloyd?the first African-American player in the Association, Lloyd played 9 seasons in the NBA starting with the Washington Capitals. Former track star?Madeline Manning Mims, who was?on the USA Olympic Track Team four times, Bill White first?African-American President of?the National League, also a former play by play broadcaster for the New York Yankees. Reggie Rucker former wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns who played for the team from 1975-1981.
