Lakers Sign Mbenga To 10 Day Contract

The Los Angeles Lakers, have not?been bitten by the “injury bug” they have been down right infested by them. The latest casualty is forward Trevor Ariza who? will miss the next?eight weeks due ?to a broken right foot. Also on the injured list, starting?center Andrew Bynum out until the middle of March with a balky-left knee,?backup Chris Mihm who has a sore right?Achilles tenon. Vladimir Radmonovic? is also out with a? sprained right ankle.

To fortify their frontcourt the Lakers signed a 10 day deal with former Golden State?Warriors center?DJ Mbenga. Mbenga, who had played the last 3 seasons for the Dallas Mavericks, played until January 6 with the Warriors before being cut. Mbenga was on the bench Monday as the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 116-99.
