During the Denver Nuggets game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony was helped off the court midway through the second quarter with a sprained left ankle.  According to Nuggets spokesman Eric Sebastian, X-rays of Anthony’s ankle proved to be negative and Anthony was to be re-evaluated Tuesday in Denver.

Specifically, Anthony made a jumper with 5:58 left in the second quarter before landing on the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant’s right foot; Anthony dropped to the floor in obvious pain.  Anthony, who hasn’t missed a game this season, sat out 5 games in December of 2004 with a sprained ankle.
