Wallace & Davis Receive Player Of The Week Honors

The NBA announced Tuesday that Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace was awarded the NBA Player of the week in the Eastern Conference, Baron Davis point guard of the Golden State Warriors was given the honor in the Western Conference.?The award was for the week of?Januray 14-20, although normally announced on Monday’s it was delayed this week because of the holiday.

Wallace along with team mate Jason Richardson have been the keys of the recent turnaround in Charlotte. Last week Wallace helped the Bobcats go 3-1, as he averaged 29.0, 8.0 boards, 4.8 assists, 3.0 steals. He had back to back games of 40 points, and 36 points, the highest point total for a two game stretch in team history.

Davis who ironically started his career with Charlotte’s first NBA team the Hornets, helped his team also attain a 3-1 record a s he averaged 26.3 points, 7.0 assists, 5 .0 rebounds, 4.5 steals during the week. Davis stole the ball 7 times on January 16, against the Pacers in Indiana, he scored 40 points on January 18, in Chicago against the Bulls.
