Calderon’s Double-Double Lets Raptors Squeeze By Boston 114-112

Jose Calderon recorded a double-double, 24 points, 13 assists, and created a 3 point play with just 10.5 seconds left in the game as?the Toronto Raptors won a thriller Wednesday night in Boston defeating the Celtics 114-112. Chris Bosh, and Anthony Parker each scored 23 points, as? Toronto ended Boston’s?winning streak at 3 games. The Raptors shot a scalding 58.0% from the floor for the game, and an unbelievable 71.4% from outside the arc, hitting 15-21 treys.
This game was tight from start to finish as there were 16 ties, and the lead changed hands 31 times. Boston had a razor thin lead at the end of the first, 29-28, but Toronto held the advantage at the half leading 57-55. Boston had a big quarter in the third as they led 91-84 as the two teams entered the final period. Boston led 102-95? after a three point shot by Paul Pierce, but Chris Bosh hit a pair at the line, then sunk a jumper, to 102-99. Boston had the lead up to 108-104, when Carlos Delfino hit a trey, and then with Boston up 112-111, Calderon sunk outside shot got fouled on the play and hit the shot at the line. Toronto was up 114-112 with 10.5 seconds left in the game, Eddie House, and Tony?Allen both tried hitting shots for the Celts in the closing seconds, but neither was successful.
Calderon?shot 8-10 from the floor, 3-4 from outside the arc, and 5-5 at the charity stripe, for his 24 points, along with his 13 assists, he had 3 steals, 2 rebounds. Bosh along with his 23 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist, Parker added 2?steals, 2 rebounds, 1? assist,?besides his 23 points. Andrea Bargnani scored 20 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 block, Delfino came off the bench and scored 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
Kevin Garnett led all scorers with 26 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block. Paul Pierce scored 19 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, Ray Allen also scored 19 for the Green Team, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. Rajon Rondo scored 14 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, Tony Allen?had a good game off the bench scoring 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks. Toronto is the first Atlantic Division team to beat the Celtics this season, they are now 23-19, Boston is 33-7.
