Typically you wouldn’t count on Chicago Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich as your go-to guy in clutch situations; however, due to injuries to Luol Deng and Ben Gordon, Hinrich all of a sudden got aggressive.? Hinrich’s twelve points in the fourth quarter were key as the Bulls went to record an impressive win over the Indiana Pacers Wednesday at United Center.
Indiana shot cold during the first half, while Chicago outscored?the Pacers by 11 during the second quarter, giving the Bulls a commanding 57-43 lead going into halftime.? The Pacers slowly shrunk the Bulls’ lead to 79-77 on a basket by Shawne Williams and a pair of free throws by Mike Dunleavy just 1:16 into the fourth quarter; but Chicago would create a 16-6 run that increased their lead to 95-83 with 5:19 left in the game, icing the game for the Bulls.
The aforementioned Hinrich led all Chicago scorers with a career-high 38 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists, while Andres Nocioni scored 24 and 7 rebounds; Thabo Sefolosha and Joakim Noah - from off the bench - added 14 each.? Indiana was led by Danny Granger with a decent effort as he scored 33 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists; Kareem Rush added 13 while Jeff Foster recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.? Chicago (17-24) continues their homestand by hosting the Charlotte Bobcats Friday night, while Indiana (19-24) travels up I-94 North to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Thursday.
