Pistons Get Fired Up In First Beat Magic 101-93

The Detroit Pistons got down to business in a hurry Friday night as they scored 39 points, in the first quarter and the Orlando Magic never really recovered as the Pistons defeated Orlando in front of the Auburn Hills crowd 101-93. Detroit shot 50.6% from the floor for the game (41-80) as they were led by Richard Hamilton who scored a game high 32 points in the win.
Detroit shot a?blistering 77%? in the first quarter led by Rasheed Wallace who?scored 13 points, in the period. Detroit had?more than double the amount of points in the first quarter than the Magic as the Pistons led 39-18, at the end of the first quarter. Orlando shot 31 points in the second quarter, and only cut 2 points off the lead as the Pistons had a 68-49 advantage at the half. The Magic would outscore Detroit in every period but the first quarter, as they outscored the Pistons 44-33 in the second half and still ended up losing the game by 8 points. That’s not digging yourself a hole, that’s digging yourself a canyon!
Hamilton shot 14-22 from the floor, 2-3 from outside the arc, 2-3 from the?line for his 32 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals. Chauncey Billups scored 21 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal,?Wallace would score 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals. Antonio McDyess recorded a double-double with 10 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal.
Hedo Turkoglu led the Magic with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block. Dwight Howard got yet another double-double, 22 points, 14 boards, 2 blocks, 2 assists, 1 steal, Carlos Arroyo scored 16 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Rashard Lewis scored 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, Keith Bogans came off the bench scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Detroit improves to 31-13, while Orlando is 27-18.
