The Jason Kidd?trade rumors?appear to be heating up – but with a twist.? According to Andrew Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the New Jersey Nets are in some serious negotiations in a 3-way deal which includes the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks; this was confirmed by NBA sources on Wednesday afternoon.
Here’s how the trade looks right now: in the proposed trade, Dallas and Portland would send New Jersey a package that would include the Mavericks’ Jerry Stackhouse and Devean George, and the Trail Blazers’ Travis Outlaw, Channing Frye and Jarrett Jack.? The Mavericks’ Devin Harris would go to Portland; along with Kidd, the Nets would send Malik Allen and Jamaal Magliore to Dallas.?
The Nets would also receive at least one future #1 pick and cash; it is expected that New Jersey would work out a buyout with Stackhouse and allow him to become a free agent.? Other players could be included into the mix to balance the exchange of contracts.? Assuming that Kidd indeed goes to Dallas, that could very well make the Mavericks instant favorites in the Western Conference.
