Kobe & Sasha Carry Lakers Over Knicks 120-109

Kobe Bryant recorded a double-double, scoring? a game high 24 points, and dishing off a game high 11 assists, Sasha Vujacic came off the bench hit 5 treys, and scored 12 of his 20 points in the final quarter, as the Los Angeles Lakers came back to win Tuesday night against the New York Knicks 120-109. The win did however come with a price, the Lakers lost forward Luke Walton in the first period as he suffered a right hip pointer. The Lakers have already been infested with the “injury bug” as centers?Andrew Bynum, Chris Mihm, and forward Trevor Ariza are all currently inactive with injuries. However Vujacic filled in nicely in the void Tuesday night.

The game was tight through the first 3 quarters, as the lead changed hands 9 times, and the two teams were tied 19 times. New York had a slim lead at the end of the first quarter as the led 29-28, they had a 61-58 advantage as the two teams went to their respective locker rooms at the half. Los Angeles cut the lead to just 2 points as they headed into the final quarter, the Knicks up 87-85, but the Lakers increased their offensive intensity as the Slovenian native Vujacic seemed to create a buzz through the team. The Lakers outscored the Knicks 35-22 in the fourth quarter to win rather easily.

Bryant shot 10-21 from the floor including 1 trey, 3-6 at the line for his 24 points, along with his 11 assists, he had 8 rebounds, 1 block. Lamar Odom also registered a double-double, 22 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, Vujacic along with his 20 points, had 3 assists, 1 block. Derek Fisher scored 17 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound, Ronny Turiaf scored 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 assists. Kwame Brown also recorded a double-double 10 points, 11 boards, 4 blocks, 1 steal.

Six New York players scored in double figures, as Nate Robinson and Jamal Crawford each led the team with 22 points apiece. Robinson coming off the bench had 9 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, Crawford had 4 assists, 2 steals,?1 rebound.? David Lee recorded a double-double, 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, Zach Randolph registered a double-double as well, scoring 16 points, a game high 14 boards, 4 steals, 2 assists.??Quentin Richardson scored 13 points,?7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, Eddy Curry scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, in the loss. Los Angeles is now 28-15, New York is 14-30.
