Stoudemire’s 22 First-Half Points Help Suns Roast Hawks 125-92

In Tuesday night’s contest between the Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns, the Suns’ Amare Stoudemire made life miserable for the Hawks’ frontcourt and anyone else who dared venture into his path.? His 24 first-half points and stellar defense enabled the Suns to win convincingly, 125-92, over the Hawks at Phoenix.

The Suns shot a blistering 64.2% from the floor, while the Hawks shot a pitiful 34.3%; with the Suns’ Stoudemire exploiting the Hawks’ defense and scoring at will, Phoenix built a 52-33 lead at halftime.? Shawn Marion and Grant Hill took over the bulk of the scoring for the Suns in the third period when they widened their advantage to 90-66, when the outcone was never in doubt.

Phoenix had 6 players in double-digits, led by Stoudemire with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots; Marion scored 19, while Boris Diaw and Hill scored 16 apiece.? Steve Nash recorded a double-double with 10 and 10 assists.? Atlanta was led by Marvin Williams with 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Josh Childress added 17 and 7 rebounds; Zaza Pachulia chipped in with 12.? Phoenix (33-13) continues their homestand by hosting the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, while Atlanta (18-23) travels to Los Angeles to face the Clippers at Staples Center Wednesday.
