Miller’s 20-20 Night Leads Kings Over Bobcats 105-91
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Main
Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller seems to be rejuvenated; last season, he struggled with injuries, yet has seemed to rediscover his offensive game at perhaps the right time for the Kings. Miller’s renaissance continued Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets; he scored 22 points and grabbed a season-high 21 rebounds, leading Sacramento to a big 105-91 win at Arco Arena.
The first half was non-descript, as neither team shot well enough to pull away; Sacramento managed to cling onto a slim 55-52 lead at halftime. The Kings opened the third quarter with a 12-3 run to initially take control of the game; Sacramento’s Kevin Martin scored 11 points in the period and Ron Artest added 10 as the Kings had an 84-68 lead going into the fourth quarter. Charlotte trimmed the Kings’ lead to 92-85 on a Jeff McInnis jumper midway through the quarter; but Sacramento responded rather quickly, going on an 11-2 spurt over the next 3 minutes, squashing any hopes of a Bobcat comeback.
Sacramento was led by Martin and the aforementioned Miller with 22 points each - Miller also grabbed 21 rebounds, dished out 5 assists and blocked 3 shots. Ron Artest added 21 along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Charlotte was led by Gerald Wallace with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot. Raymond Felton scored 16 with 7 assists and 3 steals, while Emeka Okafor recorded a double-double with 13 and 15 boards. Sacramento (20-24) continues their 5-game homestand as they host the New Orleans Hornets on Friday, while Charlotte (18-28) continue to Oakland to face the Golden State Warriors - also on Friday.
