NBA Names Mike Brown & Byron Scott As Coaches Of The Month

The NBA announced on Friday that they have named Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown as NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for January 2008. New Orleans Hornets head coach Byron Scott who was named as the coach of the NBA All-Star Team for the Western Conference, was named Coach of the Month in the Western Conference. Brown led the Cavaliers to an Eastern Conference best record of 11-3 for the month of January, it was the Cavaliers best record for a month?since February of 1996. Cleveland tied a franchise mark by winning 6 road games during the month.

Scott led his team to a NBA best 12-2 record during the first month of 2008, His team leads the Western Conference at 32-13, the only team in the Association with a better season mark is the Boston Celtics. Scott will coach the Western Conference All-Star squad on his home floor, the New Orleans Arena.
