Kevin Durant scored 24 points, and the Seattle Supersonics shot a blistering 56.4% from the floor for the game (44-78), as they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday night 101-95. It was the?second straight win for the Sonics, who finally broke their 14 game losing streak on Tuesday night when they defeated the San Antonio Spurs. Cleveland was playing Thursday night without their All-Star forward LeBron James who was on the bench in street clothes as he was out with a sore right ankle.

Seattle had an incredibly strong first half and basically held on for the win in the second half. The Sonics?opened up the game by scoring 40 points in the first quarter, as they led the Cavaliers 40-24 at the end of the first quarter, they had the lead at an even 20 points, by the half going into the locker room with a 62-42 advantage. Cleveland was able to cut the lead to 17 points, as ?Seattle had a 85-68 lead heading into the final quarter. The Cavaliers finally got their game together in the fourth and got within 4 points, as Larry Hughes hit a field goal Sonics leading 99-95 with 37 seconds left in the game, but that was it for Cleveland, as Seattle held on for the victory.

Durant shot 10-16 from the floor, 4-5 from the line for his 24 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks. Chris Wilcox recorded a double-double, 18 points, a game high 13 boards, 1 assist,?Jeff Green scored 17 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block. Kurt Thomas scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals.

Larry Hughes led all scorers as he scored a game high 28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 17 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, 3 blocks, Damon Jones came off the bench and scored 15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Daniel Gibson also came off the bench scoring 13 points, 6 assists, Drew Gooden scored 10 points, 1 assist, 1 steal. Seattle improves to 11-35, Cleveland is now 25-20.
