Turkoglu’s 20 Second-Half Points Help Magic Beat Pacers 121-115

?????????????????????????????????? Center Dwight Howard posted 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic past the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.?

Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu on Saturday night was a player of contrasts.? He was ineffective in the first half; however, he came alive, scoring 20 second-half points, leading the Magic to a 121-115 win over the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.? After falling behind by six points late in the first quarter, the Pacers went on a 17-2 run, capped by Troy Murphy’s 3-pointer, to take a 43-34 lead in the second quarter.

Orlando used three consecutive 3-pointers to regain a 4-point edge later in the period, but Indiana, behind Shawne Williams’ layup, took a 60-58 lead going into halftime.? Orlando began to assume control with a 12-2 run midway through the third quarter; the Magic’s Turkoglu – who scored 11 points in the quarter – gave Orlando an 85-77 lead with a jumper with 4 minutes left in the period.? The Magic pushed the lead to 94-85 following Keith Bogans’ trey to end the quarter.

Orlando took their largest lead of the game, 105-93, on Turkoglu’s trey with 8:30 left in the game; Indiana responded?with an 8-0 run? to get to within 4 points, but Rashard Lewis’ 3-pointer and Turkoglu’s jumper pushed the Magic lead?back to 110-101 with 4 minutes left – a lead the Magic would not relinquish.? Orlando’s leading scorer was Dwight Howard with?24 points, 12 rebounds and a blocked shot; Turkoglu scored 23 – including 3 treys – with 5 rebounds and 8 assists.? Lewis added 19, while a trio of Magic players – Maurice Evans, Carlos Arroyo and Bogans – chipped in with 16 apiece.? Evans and Lewis drained 3 three-pointers each, while Bogans made 4 treys.?

Indiana was led by Danny Granger with 29 points, while Mike Dunleavy scored 19?with 7 rebounds and 5 assists;?Murphy from off the bench added 17?in a losing effort.? Orlando (31-18) returns home to host the Dallas Mavericks Monday, while Indiana (19-29) continues their homestand by hosting the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.?
