Former NBA player Glen Rice will not have a court date to deal with, after all; according to the Associated Press, battery charges were dropped against Rice after the man was allegedly beaten by the former NBA player said that he didn’t want to pursue the case.? Back in January, Rice was charged with felony battery; he went to estranged wife Christina Rice’s home and was said to have punched Alberto Perez several times.
Perez, who was hiding in a closet, was cut on the forehead and required 9 stitches, according to police.? Since that time, Perez has told police that he does not want to proceed with the case and the charges were dropped on Friday, according to Ed Griffith, spokesman for the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office.? Rice played 15 seasons in the NBA, averaging 18.3 PPG over his career; his stops included 6 seasons with the Miami Heat, along with the Los Angeles Lakers, the then-Charlotte Hornets, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.
