Spectrum To Get A Sixers Game

???????????????? ?
Despite all of the speculation about the Wachovia Spectrum being in its final days, according to Anthony J. Sanfilippo of the Delco Times, a Philadelphia-based newspaper, the Philadelphia 76ers want to pay tribute to the building by playing a game there.? According to sources familiar with the situation, the team is planning to move their March 22 game against the New Jersey Nets to the Spectrum; Peter Lukko, president and chief executive officer of Comcast-Spectacor, told the Times, “It’s something we’re looking into and considering.”
However, according to additional sources, it is a done deal; the hope is of the game to be one of the best attended of the Sixers’ season.? The team hasn’t had especially strong attendance this season - their average of 13,146 is the fourth-worst in the NBA - and the idea of playing a game at the Spectrum may bring renewed interest in the team.? The Spectrum is a target for demolition as part of a $120 million entertainment project called “Philly Live”, which will include restaurants, shopping, night life and may possibly include a high-end hotel on the site where the Spectrum is currently sitting at.
