?The New Orleans Hornets may as well have stayed home; the Utah Jazz on Monday dominated the Hornets almost from the tip-off - including a franchise record 14 three-pointers - as they emerged victorious over the Hornets 110-88 at Energy Solutions Arena.? The Hornets’ Chris Paul, an All-Star pick this year, was completely outplayed by the Jazz’ Deron Williams, while Utah shot 50.6% from the field.

The aforementioned Williams scored 12 points in the third period as the Jazz stretched their lead from 11 to as much as 22; Williams also leaped around the Hornets’ Tyson Chandler for a dunk to put Utah up 59-41 with 9:34 in the third period.? Williams would add a 3? about a minute later to push Utah’s lead to 64-44.? The Jazz’ Kyle Korver opened the fourth quarter with 4 straight three-pointers during a 15-4 run.? The Hornets didn’t challenge from that point on.

Utah was led by Williams with 29 points, 3 rebounds, 11 assists and a steal; Korver from off the bench scored 20, including 6 treys.? Carlos Boozer added a double-double with 19 and 17 rebounds.? New Orleans was led by reserve Jannero Pargo with 24 points, including 3 treys; Morris Peterson scored 16, while Peja Stojakovic and Davis West added 12 points apiece.? Utah (31-18) makes the journey to Denver to face the Nuggets on Wednesday night, while New Orleans (32-15) flies to Arizona to take on the Suns - also on Wednesday.
