Nets Don’t Slow Down Fisher & Gasol As Lakers Win 105-90

Derek Fisher scored a game high 28 points, and Pau Gasol introduced himself to his Lakers teammates with a double-double, as Los Angeles handily defeated the New Jersey Nets Tuesday night 105-90. Four of five Lakers starters scored in double figures, surprisingly the only starter who did not was Kobe Bryant who had a tough night shooting. However his teammates more than made up for Kobe’s shooting woes, as a lot of New Jersey fans left the Izod Center early.
New Jersey actually led at the end of the first quarter 27-26 at the end of the first quarter, but the two teams were tied at the half 47-47. The Lakers led by 4 at the end of the third quarter 75-71, and Vince Carter made it a 2 point game at the start of the fourth quarter 75-73. But?the Nets fell behind quickly, as Los Angeles went on a?5-0 run to put themselves up 80-77, and New Jersey?never recovered.
Fisher led the Lakers with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, in the victory. Gasol recorded a double-double,?scored 24?points, grabbed 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, Vladimir Radmanovic scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals.?Lamar Odom also registered a double-double 14 points, 15 boards, 5 assists.
Vince Carter?led New Jersey with 27 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists.?Bostjan Nachbar recorded a double-double as he scored 19 points, grabbed 10 boards, and 2 assists, Richard Jefferson scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 assist, Jason Kidd registered a double-double, with 11 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals. Lakers are now sitting with a 31-16 record, New Jersey is 20-28.
