Kerr Looking For Defender To Fill Slot Number Thirteen
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The “Arizona Republic” Friday reported that Phoenix Suns General Manager Steve Kerr is looking for a defensive player to fill the club’s thirteenth slot. Since the last NBA Collective Bargaining agreement each NBA roster must carry at least 13 players. An Association team can carry up to fifteen players, but some teams do not use the two remaining slots. Kerr told the paper that he is primarily looking for a player who is a good shooter, and plays hard defense against the wing. Kerr said he is still waiting for former Suns players Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to pass their physicals with Miami before he acquires a player. However Kerr did say he was in contact with players, and agents. Marion and Banks went to Miami in the trade that brought the Suns center Shaquille O’Neal.
