Leon Powe put the ball through the cylinder at the buzzer, and the Boston Celtics walked off the court in Minneapolis with a hard fought 88-86 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves 88-86 Friday night. The Celtics played for the sixth straight game without Kevin Garnett who strained an abdominal muscle when the two teams played in Boston. The Celtics looked lost in the first three quarters, and did not really look in sync as they trailed for most of the first half, traded the lead back and forth with Minnesota during the third and fourth quarters.

Minnesota and Boston both looked lost during the first quarter as the T-Wolves led 18-16 at the end of the first quarter, Minnesota was up by 5 points?at the half 45-40. Although the Celtics tied the game at 53-53, and led 58-55?after Ray Allen hit a trey with 3:25 left in the third. But?the Timberwolves had the lead back at the end of the quarter, as?they took a 66-62 lead as the two teams approached the final 12 minutes of play. Boston took the lead at the start of the?quarter, as Eddie House, and James Posey hit back to back treys, and the Celtics led 68-66. Although Boston would get the lead up to four points,the T-Wolves would come right back and tie the game up. Minnesota had a 2 point lead at 86-84, But? Rajon Rondo hit an 18 foot jumper tying the game at 86-86. Marko Jaric threw up a desperation three to try to win the game, Boston?got the ball back to Powe who laid it up?and in to win the game literally at the buzzer

Paul Pierce?scored 18 points, 6 assists, 2?rebounds, 2 steals?in the win. Ray Allen scored 17 points, 5 rebounds 4 assists, Powe had another great game off the bench scoring 16 points, 8 boards, 1 block. Eddie House had nice night coming off the pine, 14?points, 4 assists, Rajon Rondo scored 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block.

Minnesota was led by former Boston center Al Jefferson, scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 2 blocks.?Craig Smith came off the bench, and scored 16 points off the bench, former Celtics forward Ryan Gomes scored 13 points, 6 rebounds.
