Reports Say Bynum Due Back By Mid-March

The “Los Angeles Times” reported Saturday that Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum is on schedule to return sometime in mid-March from the knee injury that has derailed his season. Bynum who was having his strongest season of his NBA career, dislocated his left knee cap during a game on January 13. Although no surgery was needed, Bynum needed to go through 8 weeks of rest and rehabilitation before he would be able to play again. There were reports out earlier this month stating that Bynum’s recovery was not going well, but Lakers spokesman John Black said although Bynum is not yet jogging or running, his rehab is going as planned. Currently new Lakers acquisition Pau Gasol is playing center for L.A. Gasol will return to his natural position at the power forward slot once Bynum has recovered.
