Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
There has been much speculation in the last couple of weeks about the short term, and long term home for New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd. Last month Kidd revealed that he had authorized his agent Jeff? Schwartz, to talk to Rod Thorn Nets team president, about trading the Association veteran to another? NBA team. One rumor floated to the top, a three way deal involving New Jersey,?the Dallas Mavericks, and?the Portland?Trail Blazers. Monday the “New York Daily News“?reported that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said he has no interest in trading for Kidd. Cuban according to the report said that the Mavericks point guard Devin Harris has the potential to be in the Dallas owner’s opinion a top five point guard in the NBA. Cuban also said according to the report that the salary cap numbers, would not make the trade feasible.
Also according to the report, Schwartz has told New Jersey management not to trade his client to a non-contender. Schwartz according to the report, stated that if Kidd is traded to a lottery team, the agent would steer all future clients away from New Jersey. The NBA trading deadline is February 21.
