Shaq Talks About First Practice

?????????????????????????????????
Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O’Neal participated in his first team practice on Monday, and if the results from the practice are any indication, O’Neal is in relatively good shape.? He participated in every drill - shooting and 5-on-5 exercises - all being watched by Suns head athletic trainer Arron Nelson and staff.? O’Neal told Josh Greene of Suns.com, “It was a lot of running and a lot of learning.? This is something very different for me.? I just have to get in-tune with what everybody?s doing.? When you talk about being on a great team, everybody has to be on the same page.? I don’t want to be the one who slows us up half a millisecond.”
Suns coach Mike D’Antoni said that the team will need to make an adjustment, mindful of O’Neal’s skill set, in order to retain team chemistry.? D’Antoni added that it shouldn’t be a problem.? O’Neal is currently listed as “day-to-day”, but that could possibly change as O’Neal will sit down and consult with D’Antoni and Nelson to evaluate how he feels physically, leaving open the possibility that O’Neal could play just before the All-Star break.
