The “Star-Ledger” reported Wednesday morning that trade talks concerning Indiana Pacers Jermaine O’Neal have been scuttled, because of his problems with his knees. According to the report, the Pacers tried to deal with a few NBA teams, including the New Jersey Nets. O’Neal recently said that he was not concerned if he was traded or not. Last week there was some speculation that O’Neal could have been reunited with his former coach Isiah Thomas in New York. The trade rumor that was out there mainly involved O’Neal in exchange for Zack Randolph, apparently that trade will not be consummated.

Josh Howard Status Uncertain For Wednesday Mavs VS Blazers Game

The Associated Press reported Tuesday night that Dallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard may not be available for Wednesday’s contest between Dallas and the Portland Trail Blazers. Howard has a bruised lower back according to the report, and that may keep him out of action. Howard had a MRI and it showed that it is only a bruise, and nothing nmore serious. Howard was injured Monday night when the Mavericks lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, the 27 year old forward hit the ground pretty hard during a play. The injury bug has already bit Dallas quite hard as they?were without?Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, and Erick Dampier Monday.
