The Boston Celtics seem to be adjusting quite well recently to the loss of All-Star forward Kevin Garnett as they won their fourth consecutive game, and defeated the Indiana Pacers Tuesday 104-97. Boston’s Paul Pierce recorded a double-double, and the Celtics may have found themselves a new starting center in Leon Powe. Four of the five Boston starters scored in double figures.

Indiana started the game off as the aggressor, leading at the end of the first quarter 25-21. Boston fought back in the second quarter, they got the lead?at 46-45 as?Pierce hit a shot with 1:57 remaining in the half. In the fourth quarter, Indiana was kind of like a mosquito, they bit, they drew blood, but got swatted down at the end. The Pacers took an 86-84 lead when Shawne Williams hit a 25 foot trey, with?9:15 remaining in the game. Indiana’s lead was short lived though as it was soon Boston on top 93-86, and the Pacers never recovered.

Pierce scored 28 points, grabbed 12 boards, 5 assists, 1 block to lead the Celts? to victory. Ray Allen scored 23 points, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Leon Powe?may have turned Kendrick Perkins into the Celtics version of Wally Pipp, as he has adapted seamlessly to starting at center. Powe scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, Rajon Rondo scored 12 points, 7 assists,7 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks.

Danny Granger recorded a double-double for Indiana, scoring 18 points, 10 boards, 5 blocks, 3 assists. Shawne Williams scored 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists, Troy Murphy scored 13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Mike Dunleavy also scored 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, Kareem Rush was the third Pacers player to score 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. Boston is now an Association best at 40-9, Indiana is 21-31.
