Van Gundy Airs Publicly What He Told Howard Privately

The “Orlando Sentinel” reported on Wednesday that Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy says he criticized Magic center Dwight Howard to the media after Monday night’s game was because private conversations did not seem to help. Van Gundy who is in his first year as coach of the Magic said after the loss at to Cleveland Monday night that his center did not seem motivated, during the last few games. He revealed to reporters Tuesday, that he had made the same comments to Howard behind closed doors, but the comments seemingly went unheeded. Coach, as a former educator, I can tell you you will never get a message through to anybody by embarrassing them. All that person will be thinking about is how ashamed they are, and how angry they are at you. From now on I would recommend keeping dirty laundry indoors.
