??????????????????????????????????? Memphis Grizzlies forward Hakim Warrick (#21) pulls in a rebound over Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller, right, in the second half of their game, played Tuesday night. Warrick scored 24 points, leading Memphis to a 107-94 win over Sacramento.?

It is a safe assumption that the Grizzlies are in rebuilding mode and in transition.? All things being equal, they on most occasions have to rely on different sources for their offense, as opposed to when they had Pau Gasol before he was traded recently.? Memphis’ philanthropist was Hakim Warrick; he and Rudy Gay combined for 45 points, leading the Grizzlies to an easy victory over the Sacramento Kings 107-94 Tuesday night at FedEx Forum.

Sacramento initially shot well, using a 17-3 run in the first quarter to go up 34-22; but the Kings couldn’t keep up the pace as after Memphis’ Rudy Gay drained a 3-pointer to end the period, they would go on a 19-5 run to open the second quarter.? They used that run to build a 44-39 advantage midway through the period; Juan Carlos Navarro scored 11 points during that run, including a pair of treys.? But the Grizzlies’ lead didn’t last long as Sacramento’s Kevin Martin scored 11 points in the final minutes of the first half, giving the Kings a 59-54 lead going into halftime.

Memphis would slowly pull away by outscoring Sacramento 32-20 in the third quarter as Warrick scored 15 in the period; yet Sacramento would make one last run.? The Kings cut the Grizzlies’ lead to 95-88 with 6 minutes left in the game on a trey by Mike Bibby, but Memphis would respond with a layup by Mike Conley, Mike Miller’s 3-pointer and a pair of free throws by Gay to lead by 14.? The Kings would not recover from that blitz.

Memphis was led by Warrick with 24 points, 13 rebounds and a steal, while Gay scored 21 – including 3 treys – with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a blocked shot; Navarro from off the bench added 19 with 6 rebounds, while Miller pitched in with 17 – including 3 treys – with 10 rebounds and 3 assists.?

Sacramento was led by Martin with?33 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, while?Bibby and Ron Artest added 18 each – with Bibby draining 4 three-pointers along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal; Artest grabbed 5 boards and dished out 7 assists.? Brad Miller recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists in? alosing cause.? Memphis (14-37) travels east to Philadelphia to face the 76ers on Wednesday, while Sacramento (23-27) flies to Texas to take on the Houston Rockets – also on Wednesday.
