???????????????????????????????????? Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince dunks against the Indiana Pacers in the first quarter of their game, played Wednesday night. Detroit beat Indiana 96-80.?

I think it is safe to say that the Detroit Pistons are on a roll going into the All-Star break – which isn’t good for the rest of the Eastern Conference.? Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers proved why the Pistons are the class of the conference as they held the Pacers to only 31.6% shooting from the floor in coasting to an easy 96-80 win at Palace of Auburn Hills.

That’s not to say that the Pistons shot well themselves, as they only shot 42.5%.? It was just the matter of Indiana’s inability to shoot, period.? The Pistons took the lead for good midway through the first quarter as they led 55-42 at halftime and would build the lead up to 73-50 late in the third quarter.? The Pacers could never put together a run of any substance.? Detroit?was led by three players – Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince with 14 points each; Billups?grabbed a rebound, dished out 6 assists and had 3 steals.? Hamilton, along with his 4 treys, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 5 assists, while Prince grabbed 3 rebounds.? Jason Maxiell added 11 with 11 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.

Indiana’s leading scorer was Ike Diogu from off the bench with 14 points and 3 rebounds, while Mike Dunleavy scored 11 with 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal; Andre Owens added 10 with 6 rebounds, an assist and 2 steals.? Detroit (39-13), after the All-Star break, will put their 10-win streak on the line as they host the Orlando Magic next Tuesday; Indiana returns home to host the Cleveland Cavaliers next Wednesday.?
