Kapono Wins Three Point Shot Contest
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
For the second consecutive year Toronto Raptors forward Jason Kapono won the NBA All-Star Weekend Three Point Shoot-Out. Kapono won the event and broke the record for the contest final round point total, as he scored 25 points. The 25 points was 1 more than he scored last year when he tied the old record first set back in 1994 by former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mark Price. The point total also ties the record for most points in any round set by Craig Hodges in 1986. This is Kapono’s fifth season in the Association, he was drafted in the 2003 NBA Draft by Cleveland who he played for his rookie year. He went to the Charlotte Bobcats the following season in the expansion draft. He then spent the last two seasons playing in Miami, and was part of the Heat Championship team. He signed with the Raptors as a free agent this off-season.
