Cuban Has No Problem With George, Different Feelings On His Agent
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Now that Jason Kidd is safely in the fold with the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas owner Mark Cuban says he harbors no ill will to the player that almost derailed the deal. Mavericks veteran guard Devean George was originally supposed to be gone to New Jersey as part of the compensation package for J-Kidd and company. However George invoked a no-trade clause in his contract causing the deal to be put on hold for almost a week, and to scramble for substitutes. Still Cuban told The “Dallas Morning News” that he had no problem with George, however he feels differently about George’s agent Mark Bartelstein. Cuban was quoted in the report as saying “Devean George did everything right. Devean George was very clear that he was going to defer to his agent. His agent was basically going to make the decision for him. Devean is fine. His agent, that’s a whole other story. I don’t understand the agent and his logic, if there is any, behind the decision. But it’s not Devean George.”
